This project is based on reuse, recycle and community volunteering through the arts. I worked with other MCAD students to develop this project. Our group collected wood furniture from friends, family, faculty and thrift stores, sanded it, fixed it up when needed and primed it. We worked with kids in the Jumpstart program at the Whittier International School one morning per week to paint these pieces of furniture and revive in them a new life. After the furniture was complete we had an art show and invited community members. Next, we donated the furniture to community organizations such as group homes, nursing homes and churches.
